Waccamaw Center is an outpatient facility of the South Carolina Department of Mental Health serving Horry, Georgetown and Williamsburg Counties. You’ll find much more information about locations and services as you browse through our site, and I’d like to recommend you take a look at the video on Stigma in Mental Health.
We are particularly interested in working with families of adults and children who are diagnosed with a mental illness, and would encourage you to come as a family for your initial visits. Working together usually results in a better outcome over a shorter period of time.
The Center is funded to provide services to adults with a serious mental illness, and children with an emotional disorder. If we are unable to provide you with the services you need, we will provide you with information about other resources in your community.
